Focus on Education

CD ROM PROJECT
BACKGROUND:
SBCGS currently has over 600 CDs. These CDs all require special programs to read the data on the CDs. We have tried to make each CD so it will automatically open when installed into a computer at the library. We have procured CDs over a period of approximately ten years and many of the programs change and are updated and subsequently the older CDs may not open automatically. On the newer CD, from about serial number 500, we have attached labels on the CDs with instructions on what to do if the CD does not open.
PROJECT 1:
1. Determine what program is required to automatically open the CD.
2. Create labels for all CDs which will include the Name & Serial Number & Call Numbers plus instructions on what to do if the CD does not automatically open.
3. Test the completed CD in all SBCGS computers to verify it automatically opens.
